LANDSCAPE VALUES:
Aloe maculata, commonly known as soap aloe, zebra aloe, or spotted aloe, is a resilient succulent plant native to southern Africa. It is a popular and easy-to-grow aloe, second only to Aloe vera in popularity. Its name, "soap aloe," comes from the sap in its leaves, which was traditionally used as a soap substitute. Its drought and salt tolerance make it an excellent choice for xeriscaping, seaside gardens, and rock gardens. It can be used as a container plant or as an effective ground cover.
