Description

LIGHT: Filtered Sunlight – Part Sun HARDINESS: Tropical Zone: 9b - 11 SOIL: Moist & Well Drained HEIGHT: 5’ LANDSCAPE VALUES: VERY RARE AND UNIQUE! A wonderful hybrid of Costus barbatus created by ginger pioneer, Tim Chapman. He named it C. ‘Phoenix’ for its ability to return after being frozen back. Another major difference between this hybrid and C. barbatus is its ability to bloom both basally and at its terminal tip. Blooms profusely throughout the warm summer months even if frozen back! Can be grown in a container or planted in the garden. Protect in winter months until plant is fully established. Great Hummingbird attractor!
