LANDSCAPE VALUES: Sweet Kate is quite the showstopper! In the spring, pink grass-like foliage will emerge maturing into dense clumps of brilliant chartreuse foliage. Then in summer, dark violet, three-petaled flowers appear atop the contrasting, bold foliage. Although each flower lasts only a day, the heavy flowering continues for about 2 months. When the flowering finishes, cut it back severly to the ground to encourage a second round of blooms. Be sure to provide a spot with afternoon shade and adequate moisture.
