LANDSCAPE VALUES: 'Chuck Hayes' is specially noted for its tolerance to heat and cold hardiness, with wonderfully scented 2-3 inch, ivory summer blooms which re-bloom profusely again in the fall. Plant as a low evergreen hedge, or as a fragrant specimen. Full sun is preferred, but some shade in hotter months may be appreciated as well. Very easy to grow, 'Chuck Hayes' asks only for consistently moist to damp or even wet soil. ‘Chuck Hayes’ produces a highly fragrant almost intoxicating smelling semi-double white showy flower. Few plants can rival a gardenia in bloom and this particular gardenia performs best in warm climates or against a rock wall for a heat sink at night.
