DESCRIPTION: Another fantastic release from Louisiana State University breeding program, the LSU Gold Fig is a fast grower producing abundant, large golden fruits with delectably delicious ruby flesh that tastes like pears and honey! Excellent eaten fresh, but also dries well and is great for preserves. Selected for the Southeast, the fruit resists spoiling in hot and humid conditions but performs well in cooler climates because it ripens early. Will produce a second crop in fall in warmer climates. A fast-grower and heavy producer, LSU Gold grows well in containers or the ground. One of the easiest fruits to grow, and a true gourmet delight, you should not live your life without feasting on this sweet, delectable fruit.
