LANDSCAPE VALUES: Cyathea cooperi, commonly known as the Australian Tree Fern, is a fast-growing, evergreen tree fern popular for its large, lacy, emerald-green fronds and tropical appearance. Features large, gracefully arching, finely-divided, lacy fronds that can grow up to 13 feet) long. The new fronds, or "fiddleheads," are covered in delicate silky hairs. The slender, pale trunk is covered with fuzzy brown and white scales and features characteristic oval scars from dropped fronds. It can be grown in containers and protected in colder climates.
